We’re baaack! We kicked off this Grow Series with the vegetation period of the Berry Ryder (from AutoSeeds) and as you can see on the previous post, the plant made some excellent progress both in height and the overall health of the plant.
If you want to see the week by week progress and pictures of a fruitful marijuana grow, stay tuned, we have more grow diaries on the way. This post will focus on the flowering stage, so weeks 6 to 11, and by the end week you will see some glorious, bulbous and trich’ed out buds almost ready for harvesting.
WEEK 6
This week was surprising. I gave her around a litre of water a day at this time and she loved it! I also noticed her nutrients requirement went up significantly as a normal mix would dry up too fast this week. Working with a 21 hr light cycle, I think she did pretty good, getting to over 33 inches in height.
WEEK 7
I kept the humidity at around 55%, and she made some fantastic progress. The real stretch happened this week when she grew about 40cm in just a few days! At this stage I did think to myself if I had some space this could be totally monstrous!! I’d love for one of you growers with some space to try this out I’d love to see that! 👊
WEEK 8
As a grower, the most important thing is to listen to the plant. It will tell you when you are under or over with lighting, heat, humidity, nutes… almost everything you can adjust, watching the plant clues you in.
Since she got so big (over 57 inches by the end of the week) and showed no sign of nutrient irritation I gave her a real hot dose this week & she took it well. Having said that, I did notice a few cola leaf tips turning yellow. Plan moving forward is to tone the nutes down and then move onto the flush stage… not long to go now!!
WEEK 9
Water intake went up rapidly and by now she was drinking over 4 litres a day! I phased the watering and would feed her around 2.5 litres of nute mix then mix the rest with filtered water. As expected, she always took longer to drink the nute rich feedings!!
She levelled out at 61 inches by the weekend, and humidity was 58% with the pH staying stable at 6.5.
Buds didn’t smell much until I touched them or moved her, at which point a candy blueberry scent would fill my nostrils rapidly… resiny, minty, spicy weed aromas 😍!
WEEK 10
She skyrocketed to drinking five litres or more of water per day and she was getting louder by the hour! I definitely noticed an increase in the richness of the scents as she started bulking up rapidly… a very candylicious & berry like aroma with a bit of spearmintiness thrown in – overall it was smelling very resinous 😋!
The plant didn’t gain much in height (around an inch) but at this stage I expect nothing more. I only used the Cannazym nutrients this week, in anticipation of nuting down and starting the flushing process next week.
WEEK 11
The temp was stable at 82 degrees, and the pH neutralised at 7 for this week. The height levelled out at just under 63 inches. I can’t say that I was not in awe by the end of the flowering stage!
😎 The chunkiness she put on in a short time was amazing – a bit of colours started showing & I couldn’t help but notice the trichome coverage was beautiful 😵… at this stage she was pleasantly pungent 💪👊… so that meant she had to go down lol!!
